Pattaya golf, asked and answered

What is the best golf course in Pattaya?
Siam Country Club Old Course is the flagship — Honda LPGA Thailand host, ฿8,000 weekday all-in. Toughest test: Siam Plantation (rating 76.3/slope 143). Best modern design: Chee Chan under the Buddha mountain. Best value marquee: Phoenix Gold. Nicklaus fans: Laem Chabang.
How much does a round of golf cost in Pattaya?
Verified June 2026: ฿900 all-in at the bottom (The Emerald, reduced layout) to ฿8,000 before tip at Siam Old. The healthy middle: ฿1,750–2,950 all-in at a dozen courses. Add a ฿400–600 caddy tip everywhere.
What is the cheapest golf course near Pattaya?
The Emerald at ฿900 all-in any day — knowingly: only ~15 holes are playable amid redevelopment. Cleanest budget rounds: Mountain Shadow or Crystal Bay at ฿1,250 all-in, Greenwood at ฿1,600, Plutaluang Navy around ฿1,500.
Do I need to book tee times in advance?
Green-season weekdays: walk-ins are fine almost everywhere. Weekends, public holidays and Nov–Mar: book — direct by phone/LINE, via GolfSavers/golfdd-type platforms, or through a society bar.
Can beginners play Pattaya's courses?
Yes. Caddies (compulsory, ฿300–500) effectively coach you around. Friendliest starts: Siam Waterside among the premium courses, Crystal Bay and Greenwood among the budget ones. Avoid Mountain Shadow's narrow corridors and Pleasant Valley's forced carries until the slice behaves.
When is the best time of year for golf in Pattaya?
November–February: dry, cooler, peak prices. May–October (green season): lush, soft, afternoon storms, and the published rates drop — most 2026 windows run to 31 October. June mornings are quiet and cheap.
Are caddies compulsory at Thai golf courses?
Effectively yes — one per player, ฿300–500 on this coast. At Siam CC they also drive your compulsory cart. Tip ฿400–600 standard, cash, handed directly after the round.
Can you walk, or are carts compulsory?
Carts are compulsory at Siam CC (one per golfer), Laem Chabang, Burapha, Chee Chan, Pattana, the St Andrews 2000 group and Hermes. You can still walk at Khao Kheow, Bangpra, Pattaya CC, Greenwood, Eastern Star, Crystal Bay, Mountain Shadow, Treasure Hill, Pleasant Valley and Plutaluang.
How do I get to the courses without a car?
Bolt/Grab for daytime (~฿400–450 one-way to the Motorway 7 courses), fixed-fare golf taxis ฿2,000–2,900 round-trip with waiting, or — easiest — a society bus with transport inside the day price. No course runs a public hotel shuttle.
Can I rent golf clubs in Pattaya?
Yes: Phoenix Gold ฿1,300 (TaylorMade/Titleist), Siam CC ฿2,500, Bangpra ~฿1,200, society hire sets ฿100/day at the Sports Lounge. Shoes ฿200–800.
What's the dress code?
Collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, soft-spike shoes. No denim, beachwear or sandals. Long socks not required. Courses can refuse play if you turn up in gym kit.
Is Pattaya golf good value compared to the rest of Thailand?
It's the densest cluster in the country — 25 verified courses inside 90 minutes — so competition keeps mid-tier all-in days at ฿1,750–2,950 while quality stays championship-grade. The flagship tier (Siam, Chee Chan, Laem Chabang) prices like a destination course anywhere: ฿5,000–8,000 a day.
